Science magazine for kids wants to publish photo of Van Gogh
YEARS AND YEARS AGO, almost to far back to remember. I had a bright idea to create a mural made from upcycled plastic bottle lids. I was inspired to do this because out recycling center didn't recycle the lids only bottles. So I had a pile started on my counter from every bottle I recycled. I felt that I could do something with them and that started me down another path.
5 murals later made from plastic bottle lids and a couple years since my last one was created I was contacted this morning by an individual associated with a Science Magazine for children in South Korea requesting to use a photo of one of my very first lid murals in their publication.
This was a very welcome and inspiring email. To know that it was seen far an wide and maybe inspired others is beyond pleasing. It is revitalizing. I have this site MasterpieceArtKits.com to preserve the history of the projects and to maybe help promote my Kit idea. Community Collaborations are a great way to unite groups of people communities of all sizes. We need more projects to unite our communities to really engage people. The idea behind these and other art based community collaborations is that they are a way to reach out to people that might need some interaction with other people. They are a way to bring people from all walks of life together in one playing field. From "Shut ins" to children of all ages to professions of all sorts.
Maybe I will get back to promoting my idea of a salable community collaboration kit.
